Tunisia by motorcycle: when to go, how to get there, what you need

Tunisia is a favourite destination for riders who want to try desert sand without going too far from Italy.

You arrive by air in Djerba or take your own motorcycle on a ferry to Tunis–La Goulette. In this guide you will find the periods in which we run the trips, how to reach the meeting point, what you need to leave and how much our tours cost.

How to get there

By air

By air to Djerba, on a direct flight or with a stopover in Tunis.

With your own motorcycle

By ferry to Tunis–La Goulette from Genoa, Civitavecchia, Salerno or Palermo, depending on the season and the companies available.

From Tunis to Djerba

It is about 580 km: a transfer day, with about 6 hours 40 minutes of actual driving.

What you need

For your own motorcycle you need the Green Card for Tunisia, about €20, to bring with you or buy at the border.

How much it costs

Prices start from €1,390 for a week in Tunisia with your own motorcycle (Sahara Experience and Tracks and Dunes).
